Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. – Proverbs 22:6
Let’s give some thought to the very first word in the verse – TRAIN. If you’ve ever been through potty training, you know you can’t just tell you child to not pee or poop his pants. There are many things you must first teach him. After teaching, you must show him how to carry out your teachings. After that you must be with him to practice – over and over and over. In other words, you must TRAIN him.
The thought to consider – your young one will be more likely to be a Godly “old person” if you train him early to be a Godly “young person” instead of just raising him right.
